We had our wedding reception at Rutland Hall Hotel who were also absolutely brilliant. Emmie was wonderfully helpful all the way through the process and was really quick to respond to emails and helped walk us through the timelines of the day and advise us on when things would be able to happen best. The staff on the day were also wonderful and I just cannot fault the helpful and friendly service we were provided. We overran slightly and I was concerned that would effect the service, but they were so good and got all the food out in excellent time, which was also some of the best food I have ever eaten. The room they have is removed from the rest of the hotel with exclusive access for the reception. It's an absolutely beautiful room set across three tiers, which is great for keeping the dancefloor music from being too loud in other parts of the room, and the size meant that we could keep the tables and seating without needing a flip to make space for the dancefloor itself. We didn't get married on site, but there is a lovely outside area to do so with a beautiful view of Rutland Water. The hotel rooms were luxurious and comfortable, and the breakfast in the morning was wonderfully scrumptious. Absolutely cannot fault them, the service was perfect from beginning to end.

We booked a two night stay over Christmas, and we were SO impressed, we booked an extra night! Every single member of staff could not have been any more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, especially helping my elderly parents. At every meal, our food was amazing. Our rooms were freshly decorated and extremely comfortable. We were thoroughly spoilt the whole time ! Thank you to each and everyone for making our Christmas extra special.

We went for a Christmas meal with about 300 other people for a works do. Services, food and the ambiance was fantastic. Food was delivered with military precision, arriving hot and delicious. Would recommend as a wedding or events venue.

The pictures of it don't show enought of it. The hotel is amazing. It's medieval style outside and rooms completely upgraded. Heather are paint works!!!!! Everything is sooooo clean, both inside and outside. The restaurant and Bar is super stylish and beautiful. Amazing selection for breakfast!!!! I had dinner there twice and both food and service were amazing. It was snowing during my stay and early morning there were staff cleaning snow on the paths. I can say our stay was super a MUST. Relaxing, amazing view from the lake. Car park everywhere along the hotel site. Wifi working everywhere. We didn't enjoy all activities because of snow, but deffo coming back for more. Loved it.

Really not what we were expecting. From their website, they appear to be a country hall hotel, with some modern buildings with views over Rutland Water. What we got was a semi-underground room with a view of the wheels of passing cars and a giant wall. As others have mentioned the soundproofing is poor, so when someone in a neighbouring room was on a conference call, we could hear it loud and clear.
The main reason we were at Rutland Hall was becuase it was dog friendly and had a dog friendly area in the restaurant. Having arranged to meet others, we arrived on our first night and discovered that dog-friendly meant that we were seated on the table right next to the door, so we got an icy blast every time someone came in our out. Given that we'd reserved a table, this is where someone had decided we should be sat, the worst table in the entire restaurant, even though there were other (marginally) better options which would have been available when they set out the place settings and reserved sign.
An extra star for service, as the person who served us on the second night and breakfast on the last morning was helpful and friendly. She was clearly the newest and most junior member of staff, which may explain why her attitude was still positive.
Both the food and the room felt very expensive for what we got. We won't be returning.

Great spot with stunning views of Rutland water. Staff warm and attentive and a good food offering. We had our two dogs with us who were well catered for and spoilt for choice with local walks. Go on give it a go!

Not all 4 star hotels, are in reality 4 star, but Rutland Hall lives up to it's rating. Our stay was booked via a gift voucher, so we had a "back" room (concrete wall view), but being dark it mattered little. The front facing rooms with balconies (in Uppingham block) have fantastic views, book if you can.

Nice place for the weekend on the Rutland Water. Food is good. A number of the common areas have been redecorated not always to my taste.

Some things are sadly not as good as they were. We have been going here for several years and we are thinking of another venue now.

Booked this hotel through Secret escapes as a relaxing break for my partner, and I
On arrival we were impressed with the reception area in the old part of the hotel
Our room was round the back on the second floor and it had a massive bed (very comfortable) a large bathroom not much of a view but everything was clean
The only problem was the paper thin walls on arrival we could hear the person in the next room using the hairdryer and then after that their conversation.
I was rather surprised at this as I have never encountered this before in the many hotels I have stayed in.
We had booked dinner in the restaurant for 8oclock so we both git changed into smart clothes and made our way to the restaurant ( up a lot of steps) the restaurant was busy and the staff seemed stressed and rushed off their feet. A lot of people were complaining about the wait for their food and drinks.
My partner and I felt completely overdressed as most people were in T shirts or hoodies .
The waitress took our order and although we had to wait a while we didn't mind.
The starter's were amazing
The mac n cheese croquettes were delicious as well as the whitebait our second course of Salmon and gammon steak were also really good.
The only complaint that I have about this hotel is the noise in the bedrooms we were woken up by someone in the next room having a sneezing fit !! As well as them having several trips to the bath room during the night.
This, in turn, meant we didn't sleep much the first night and had to resort to putting the TV on the second night to drown out the noise of the adjacent bedrooms to us.
I feel that as a 4 * hotel and a spa one at that, this isn't really acceptable and because of this I don't think I would make a return to this hotel
It was hardly the relaxing peaceful break that we had been looking forward to.
Beautiful grounds and scenery but not suitable for elderly or disabled people due to the layout of the hotel

The food in Blossoms Restaurant was lovely, well presented and tasted delicious. The serving staff could have been a little more engaging!
I had requested a nice table as it was my husbands birthday . They had decorated the table and we were in a nice spot in the room . But literally not one member of staff mentioned it was a special occasion or even enquired as to whose birthday it was ...so that was a bit disappointing. But apart from that it was a nice evening and meal .

Disappointed with the new development of this site as its extremely limited to wheelchair users..
Back again for a week at this resort September 2024 to see it's new improvement, only to be horrified that the Bouls Court and Crazy Golf course has gone to waste.. Tennis courts replaced with car parking, the lodge we stayed in was filthy, even the windows opened were fill of dirt.. Bath towel were musty smelling.. And with all the so called improvements and added wedding hall, they completely forgotten about the disabled people..

The location is amazing and the buildings look stunning. That's it.
The receptionist was far from welcoming....30 min wait to be signed in.
Tbh she was actually rude and certainly has no professional manners. (obnoxious little madam ).... she looked at me like I was dirt as I obviously wasn't her type of clientel... because on my clothing.
I was actually staying here whilst i was qualifying to represent England in 2025 At International level. Never judge a book !!!
she asked for a £50 deposit even though I had pre paid in full for 3 nights... When I asked why. She said company policy. Yet, no where on paperwork does this state this.!!! She didn't like me pointing this fact out.
The room was OK....certainly NOT luxury.
The bathroom had mould on ceiling and in gouting. The heating was a fan screwed to the wall........ The bed wow.... a plank of wood is softer!!!!
The room had no WiFi. Yet on website it states all rooms have WiFi.
This place is tired and certainly not luxury.
The cleaners tried opening the door to clean before I had checked out. 30mins before check out. And they went into the room above me whilst the guy was in the shower.!
They still tried getting in even though they I said I haven't checked out yet. What the hell!!!
So no spa, bowls green, swimming pool or decent staff and tbh the list is alot more than this.
The company need a talking to to get there act together.
I will never return.
Luxury!!! 🤣 NO....certainly NOT.

Lovely peaceful getaway with plenty to do around the lake and area. Lodges could do with a makeover, and will be nice to see results of renovations - bowling green closed but could be a really good area/activity. Some people not happy about lack of advertising of ongoing renovations…
